Caregivers
Caregivers can register with the state of Michigan if you are 21 years of age or older, a Michigan resident with a valid Michigan photo ID and no prior felonies related to drugs or assault.
Caregivers can possess up to 12 plants and 2.5 ounces of dry/usable medicine for each patient they are registered to with a maximum of 5 patients at any given time. A Caregiver can also be a patient too, so a patient who is also a caregiver for 5 other patients can possess up to a maximum of 72 plants and 15 dry/usable ounces.
A plant is defined as having a root system, so seeds (without a root tip) and cuttings (without roots) are not considered plants under the law.
In order to start growing as a caregiver, you simply need a patient who is willing to let you possess their plants and establish yourself legally as their caregiver.
